Spring 2022
Coding with Scratch
Date: 7 Fridays from May 20 to July 1, 2022
Time: 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm
Grade: 5th to 8th
Cost: $70 deposit to hold the spot. $10 donation to the library for
each missed class. $70 will be refunded if student attends all 7
classes.
Class Level: This is a beginner/intermediate class.

For beginners: Using Scratch, a block coding program made by MIT Media Lab, we will teach students basic programming concepts. We’ll spend the first 2-3 weeks learning to program/control the sprites using basic blocks provided by Scratch. Then, we’ll play with some more advanced blocks and try to string them together to make a functioning program.
For returning students: we’ll have students get creative and program their own games using sprites and block coding
