How Libby Found the Library

Long before she had a name, she was just a small orange fox who kept turning up where she wasn’t expected.

She was curious about everything… the way the light moved across Vine Street in the late afternoon, the sound of a screen door, the smell of rain coming. But nothing held her attention for long, and a fox with that much curiosity and nowhere to put it is a restless creature.

Then one evening she slipped through the door of the Lansdale Public Library, meaning only to get out of the weather.

She never really left.

Inside, she found rooms full of questions, and, remarkably, rooms full of answers to go with them. She found that a single library card could open every one of them. She found people who were glad she’d wandered in and who wanted to know what she was curious about today.

She borrowed a pair of round spectacles so she could read the small print, and she stayed.

Libby has been welcoming people through that door ever since. She’ll tell you the same thing she figured out that first evening: everyone belongs here, and the card is free.
