Computer Use

Internet Use Policy

The Lansdale Public Library provides access to Internet resources in support of its mission to provide information of all types. However, some information found online may be inaccurate, incomplete, dated, or offensive to some individuals. The information consumer must evaluate the validity, authority, and appropriateness of the information found. The library is not responsible for the content of the Internet.

Patrons who wish to have access to the computers and Internet must follow the rules of the Internet Use Policy.

Rules

All patrons must follow the computer rules. Library priveleges may be suspended for violations of these rules.

Member Use of Computers

Members may use computers by visiting the reservation machine near the front desk. Patrons wait in a queue if no computers are open, otherwise they will be assigned a computer. Sign in with the number on the back of your library card as your username, and your last name as your password. Computers may be used for up to one hour if there is a wait list for the computers.

Non-Member Use of Computers

Non-members may use the computers for a full day after they: There is a limit of one hour while others are waiting. When the first hour is up, the user may sign up for another hour, when a computer becomes available. If no one is waiting, the user may use the computer for more than one hour.

Wi-Fi usage

The Lansdale Library has free open Wi-Fi usage for anyone that comes to the Library. There is no password, just connect to network LANSLIB-WIFI to get started. If you have any trouble, bring your device to the Tech Support desk for assistance.

Costs

Cost of printing from computers: $ .10 per page for black and white and $ .25 per page for color.
Charge to photocopy: $ .15 per copy (black and white available only).
